Camping at nearly 12,000 feet in the Kazakh mountains was truly a remarkable adventure. I brought a little piece of America with me in the form of Hershey chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. They survived the trip, only to be barely toasted over a gas grill. We were above tree line and had no other heat source. Don't let the sour look on Natasha's face fool you - she absolutely adored s'mores! Perhaps there is a market for marshmallows in Kazakhstan.
